Do you have a challenging conversation coming up that you really are struggling with? Well, the team at The Lift Effect can help you to rehearse the conversation and give you the experience of you having the conversation effectively. How do we do this? Well, we work with a team of highly skilled improv actors that can play the person that you need to have the conversation with. Our role is to give you the confidence, experience and knowledge to be able to tackle the ‘real’ person back in the workplace.
A session was arranged with an actor to complement a number of one-on-one coaching sessions. This session was a Damascus Road experience, as the actor provided a mirror for self examination that provides a different perspective to any other tool I have used. The actor was able to observe and articulate the impact that subtle mannerisms and reactions would have on the perception of others, and then provide tools and techniques on how to impact on these perceptions in more constructive ways. In concert with the coaching sessions, this was a great experience and opportunity to make the changes that are needed to positively impact on personal effectiveness and that of the teams that I work with.
