About us

The Lift Effect takes executives on a ride of a lifetime, using a network of people, experiences and processes to lift leadership performance beyond the average to the extraordinary. Real leadership is unique to each individual – it is flavoured by the personality, experiences, values and beliefs of the leader – consciously choosing the best of all this to motivate, engage and inspire those around them.

The experiential nature of the Lift Effect challenges executives beyond the intellectual understanding of leadership into the realms experiencing the emotional dimensions of leadership. Safe environments are used at all times to help leaders understand, experience and manage their emotional landscape, building resilience, perspective, clear decision making, empathy and the ability to engage with those around them.

The ‘raison d’etre’ for the Lift Effect is to develop sustainable leaders – leaders who have a deep understanding of their drivers, intentions, values and beliefs, along with a clear understanding of the habitual thoughts and emotions that get in the way of healthy leadership. Exceptional leadership starts on the inside, then the leaders can understand and experience how their words and actions impact others on the outside.

The Lift Effect uses research from the emerging field of Neuro Science to design programs for individuals and teams. The process of learning is linked with work by both Joe Dispenza and management guru John Kotter. To create sustained change means that you need to literally ‘change your mind’ and according to Dispenza’s research it involves three stages:

  • Thinking – the cognitive understanding of concepts and frameworks – using semantic memory
  • Doing – experiencing the change in practice – using episodic memory
  • Being – is where the change sinks into the sub conscious – using procedural memory

The third stage 'being' is where the change is so integrated into your mind that it just becomes ‘second nature’ or unconscious.
