Are you ready to share your wisdom…

by Clare Goodman

Imagine this… an online business community that you can rely to challenge your thinking, support you as a leader and where you can share your thoughts, ideas and successes.

Well, this is the vision I have for the Lift Effect website.

I want to create a forum where leaders, consultants and coaches can share their wisdom with the clear purpose of developing conscious and inspiring leaders, healthy and successful organisations.

Instead of each of us playing our individual part in this dream, by working together and sharing our resources we will create bigger ripples that can radiate out across our business community.

So this website has been designed to invite you to share your experience with others. By contributing to the Lift Effect blogs you can have your say on a number of key leadership themes and issues, sharing your words of wisdom and learning from others. You can create a Blog topic…. Just email us your suggestion and we will make it happen.

Then Lift Ed page is designed to provide resources to support you in becoming a more effective leader or encouraging others around you – and we can build this up together over time. If you have a case study or a paper that you would like to share with others then please send it through to us and we will do the rest. You can share your wisdom with others !! The Lift Ed page will link you to a number of diverse sites… if you want to know about leadership then take a look at some of the links. Seeking wisdom from a diverse philosophies or mindsets opens your mind to different possibilities, so we have included links from Eastern philosophy to Harvard and everything in between. If you know any excellent sites that we should hook up with then just drop us an email and we will action your suggestion.

So now over to you …. Are you ready to share your wisdom? What hot Blog topics do you want us to cover? How can we work together to build this online business community?

I'd be interested in a discussion around others' experiences about how to best shift a passive defensive culture, when leaders are stuck in avoidance, conventional and dependency behaviour. In your experience, what has worked?

Great question - and not sure there is an easy answer. In the clients I worked with where changing a passive culture has been the objective, it is only been achieved by strong 'blue' constructive leadership.

If culture reflects the behaviours of the CEO, then having a passive CEO makes it almost impossible to shift the culture.

Interesting conundrum...

I recently worked with a CEO of a very passive organisation. He was new into the role and led more in a more 'blue' constructive style. The journey hasn't been easy but changes have been made, structures changed, people changed and slowly he is getting traction.

This is a big challenge... let's see who else can offer some wisdom on this topic....
